The sun is the source of light for everything we photograph in the landscape, but it's almost never photographed itself. Its brightness exceed the dynamic range of the camera. But, with the help of heavy fog, it can be captured without leaving the rest of the landscape as a silhouette. Fog is a photographer's best friend.
