This is the images I got at Zabriskie Point in Death Valley from the summit with Natalie, Alain Briot and Jeff Schewe. Processing of all the images from the trip is going to take some time…

The morning of November 10. started with rain in Furnace Creek when I left in the dark, but the clouds cleared over Zabriskie Point and the clouds just partly blocked the sun, so the good light lasted for a long time this morning.

The location was named after Christian Brevoort Zabriskie, vice-president and general manager of the Pacific Coast Borax Company in the early 20th century.

Manly Beacon is a towering spire that rises above the Death Valley badlands. Manly Beacon was named in honor of William L. Manly, who along with John Rogers, guided members of the ill-fated Forty-niners out of Death Valley during the gold rush of 1849.
