The morning of November 10. started with rain in Furnace Creek when I left in the dark, but the clouds cleared over Zabriskie Point and the clouds just partly blocked the sun, so the good light lasted for a long time this morning.

Ordinarily when taking photographs, the limit on where a photograph can be taken is limited to where you can place your tripod, and how high or low you can get it. By mounting a camera on a flying platform like the Dji Phantom 2 quad copter, one have no such restrictions, and it’s possible to take images from almost unlimited new and previous impossible perspectives.

I attended the Page Fine Art Photography Summit with Alain Briot and guest speaker Jeff Schewe in November 2013, and had the opportunity to photograph for several days in Page, and on the workshop following the summit, one of the places we visited was Canyon De Chelly near Chinlee in Arizona. The image “Tsegi Overlook at Dawn” was taken before sunrise one morning, and I will show you how I worked on that image back in the studio.

Some locations and landscapes is photographed more often than others. And few sights are more photographed than The Watchman as seen from the Virgin river bridge in Zion National Park, Utah. But what few people know is that there is 3 more bridges along the Pa’rus Trail that is almost as easy to get to, and that also have a great view of The Watchman with the Virgin river as a lead in element. In addition there is a field along the Pa’rus Trail that also have a great view of The Watchman.

The images in this collection is created in different locations and national parks in Utah, with the exception of a couple of images taken in Valley of Fire, Nevada, on my way from Las Vegas to Zion.
The images was taken in Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon and around Capitol Reef in Utah. The images was taken when I attended a summit in Zion with Alain Briot and Jeff Schewe in November 2012, followed by a workshop by Alain Briot to Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef.
